Metal Detecting Beaches

Well here goes. My first blog. My name is Jim, and the hobby is as stated in the title. And I do love it too. We don't live any too close to a beach unless you count Lake Strom Thurmond's swimming areas. There was a time when those were productive but now trash seems to be the most abundant crop. The past several years we've been able to spend July 4th week @ Myrtle Beach's Ocean Lakes Camp Ground and that has (until last year) been a right fruitful week of metal detecting. This year we struck out for a more southern clime and spent that week in Sunny Daytona Fla. Just the week of the Pepsi 400. We ignored the race crowd and enjoyed our Casa by the Sea whilst getting good and sunburned during that week. Wife enjoys the beach too and so it's easy to get daytrips to Hilton Head, Tybee Island and Charleston's beaches. Which by the way I'm plotting as I write this.
I hope to have a decent blog here as I learn more about it and perhaps refine it a bit.
Happy Hunting you guys 'n gals!
Jim
